"GRIEF" Art Print

from $15.00

This is one of my absolute favorite pieces of mine, to date, titled, "Grief"

Art has been a personal healing tool in my life for many years. When I started doing my own healing work, this piece came out of me like magic, and I felt such a release moving hard emotions like this from my body, onto the canvas.

In my work I often seek to capture the depth and spectrum of human emotion through the use of gestural and impulsive brush work, raw and poetic typographic elements, compositional collage, mixed media, digital rendering, and so much more. In this piece I stuck to my roots and utilized drawing (art marker), and painting (acrylic).

"In the healing process, and the spiritual reclaiming of your spirit, in shedding the past, there is often grief. Grief in accepting things that have happened to us that shouldn't have, grief in accepting people for who they are, grief in mourning things we wish had been different, grief in letting go of the things that formed your identity for so long, that no longer serve you. In order to grow beyond the shackles of our past we must accept, and we must let go, because we must make space for what's to come. Like a spider molting her skin, we must move through the discomfort of something that didn't fit, releasing control, to emerge on the other side, new, and better than before." - LSN
