Mixed Media

The mixed media pieces I create are born from an experimental attitude towards art making, and a need to have fun with color, texture, and medium with no end-goal necessarily in mind. Each piece is different but often incorporates collage, acrylic, oil pastels, and/or art marker. This collection focuses on celebrating Art for Art’s Sake, and the pleasure and beauty that comes from discovering how to play. These works are an appeal to the child in every one of us, to be free from the expectations of society and perfectionism. We are born to enjoy this life. We are allowed to engage in jollification. We are all children at heart. Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
